Saucy ground-turkey sloppy joes on toasted buns — easy and mild.
Ingredients
Ground turkey1 lb
Yellow onion1
Sloppy joe sauce1 can
Burger buns4-pack
Steps
Dice the onion into ¼-inch pieces.
Brown the turkey and onion together in a skillet over medium-high, 7–8 minutes, breaking the meat into small crumbles until no pink remains and the onion is soft.
Season with a pinch of salt and a few grinds of pepper, then stir in the sloppy joe sauce.
Simmer over medium-low 5 minutes, stirring now and then; add a splash of water if it thickens past spoonable.
While it simmers, toast the buns cut-side down in a dry skillet 1–2 minutes — toasting keeps them from going soggy under the filling.
Pile the filling onto the bottom buns, cap, and serve hot.
